It would have been Chris Cornell, his close friend and an idol 53rd birthday, was an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He was best known as the lead vocalist for the rock bands Soundgarden and Audioslave. Chris Cornell died the same way almost exactly two months ago, he hanged himself.
Chester Bennington, the Linkin Park lead singer whose unique vocals become one of the most successful acts in the 2000s, Chester was found dead in his home near Los Angeles on Thursday according to a spokeman for the LA County Coroner. He was 41.
Chester was always open about his troubled life after his parents divorced at the age of 11, he then smoked pot which lead to cocaine and methamphetamine. He then said he also suffered s*xual abuse as a child.
"When I was young, getting beaten up and pretty much raped was no fun," he told The Guardian in 2011. "No one wants that to happen to you and honestly, I don't remember when it started."
"I remember that stuff happening to me at that stage and even thinking about it now makes me want to cry," he said. "My God, no wonder I became a drug addict. No wonder I just went completely insane for a little while."
The Linkin Park singer died of an apparent suicide by hanging at his Los Angeles home. His body was found Thursday.
